Single origin chocolate refers to the origination of the cacao beans used to create the chocolate. Like other fruits tree, cacao is infused with flavours from the environment in which it grows. The source and certain cacao allows the chocolate maker to create distinctive flavours profile within each bar and very unique to the next. For example, a chocolate made with Colombian beans often has flavour of sweet species, lemongrass, liquorice and sesame. However, Indian origin chocolate on the other hand, will often have fruity and species flavours notes.
